The content is specified in XML. The generator reads it and builds an in-memory object representation of the complete site. At this stage, various verifications are run, e.g. for example the link consistency is checked. In a last stage, code generation templates are used to generate the actual HTML. Note that, as a consequence, the whole site is just static HTML, no JSP, CGI or PHP is necessary.
